How do I remove this rubber plug from the body?

These plugs are located to the left of the drivers feet. The bottom plug feeds power to the front drivers side signal light. I can pull up on the two wires and it unplugs from the jack, but mine has a short on the bottom side, how do I remove the rubber plug from the body so I can check the wires on the other side?

Looking up from under the van, or looking behind the headlight, I cant get access to the bottom side. Does it unscrew, or do I just pull up on it?

i think i remember on my 67
the plug is a snap in and tuff to remove but
if you take the turn signal bucket out you can get in there that way..
i think
been like 3 yrs since i fixxed the evil eye my 67 had when i got it , a previous owner had an argument with some guardrails and lost.
the bucket was not in mine when i got it and had to put one in it after pulling out the dented corner
my connector wasn't even there, so i just ran a new wires through the plug and put on my own connectors to the headlight and signals
if i'm remembering correct ... i did a lot of life support on that one at the time too

Thanks G-Man, and LEADFOOT, for speaking-up.. With the number of page views I figured they weren’t really sure.

LEADFOOT gets the prize on this one, it is a snap in plug.. It sure doesn’t want to come out though, I was afraid it was going to rip before it let go. I was able to use pliers to squeeze it enough to get a couple of little screwdrivers in around it. Then spreading the screwdrivers apart caused it to pop out.

Funny though, that wasn’t the problem.. The problem was loose connections. I was able to remove the plugs from the in cab harness and tweak the plugs enough for a tight fit.

Problem solved, now to find out why the horn doesn’t work.. Smile
